After a man assaulted media mogul Rupert Murdoch with a pie, sociologists are saying that this will set off a new wave of pie-throwing being used a political statement. That’s right, a new wave of pie-throwing. That means there have been previous waves of pie-throwing.
Despite being a comedy staple of the vaudeville era, the ancient art of pie-throwing made it’s way into social activism back in the 70s. Jefferey Skilling, Bill Gates, Ann Coulter and Andy Warhol are just a few to have tasted the sweet wrath of pie tossers.
All this has be very excited for what’s to come. Since pie-throwing gets attention, it inspires more pie-throwing, and we live in a time where the people in power are just begging to be creamed.
I’m not one to condone the wasting of good pie, but I admit that I’ll enjoy watching powerful people brought down the level of a lowly Stooge.
